Everyone remember my little problem a few weeks back dealing with my sisters and my car?
Well, guess what?
A tree fell on my sisterÂs car on Friday. It wasn't a big tree, but it did f*** it up a little. Yeah, little enough to require body work on %50 of the car and a complete repaint.
All $2500. Shit!
All that for a $2000 car. Hey, I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't a steal. It WAS in great shape.
Mine, is...well... F#*$ed up also. Friday I went out and purchased a new thermostat, coolant, oil pan gasket, and serpentine belts. I was going to make a weekend project out of it.
I got the belt on easy enough, but I couldn't get the oil pan off. It must be fried on. Might as well let the dealer handle this. You know, if it isn't over a $100. Because I only paid $3 for the part.
By my math thatÂs $3 times three for labor = $12
Plus oil and filter = $18
for a grand total of = $32.40 (remember my math.)
Well, the guy that they took it to said $268 just for the gasket replacement.
Yes, the same guy that they got such a good deal out of the last time.
But wait, it isn't the leaky seal thatÂs leaking it's the rear main seal in the engine? WTF!?
Isn't that the same thing?
Hold on, it's been 100k since your last tune up so letÂs add $454 for the tune up. :O
AND $303 for the Cv joints because we feel like it. (Those bastards were replaced F***ing 16 months ago they are not bad DAMNIT!!!)
Total cost for mine = around $1500
Shit at this rate they might as well check the rack and pinion for leaks because that is only a year old.
I swear my next car will be factory fresh. None of this used car bull shit.

"Just over a week ago, Jay Carter's CarterCopter managed to break a significant rotorcraft barrier, traveling at a mu ratio of 1. This 1-to-1 ratio (sometimes called the mu-1 barrier) represents a condition where the forward speed of the craft is the same as the speed of the tip of the rotor. This means that at a certain point, the tip of the retreating blade is "standing still" relative to the wind and producing no lift, while the rest of the blade is actually moving backwards through the air. Such a condition is normally impossible for a rotorcraft, and so the forward speed of a helicopter is limited by the the speed of the rotors. This accomplishment by the CarterCopter, which some insisted couldn't be done, proves that this new craft is not subject to that limitation."

You know, shit like that…
Yes, you read that right.
"WASHINGTON -- the United States‘ image is so tattered overseas two years after the Iraq invasion that China, which is ruled by a communist dictatorship, is viewed more favorably than the U.S. in many countries, an international poll found."
Tattered? Can they be serious? A favorable Communist Dictatorship?
"Eleven of the 16 countries surveyed by the Pew Research Center -- Britain, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan, Lebanon, Jordan and Indonesia -- had a more favorable view of China than the U.S."
Lets see; figures, figures, figures, figures, figures, figures, figures, figures, figures, and figures.

Oh, this explains enough. Thank God they have no (little?) say in our politics.
I guess it was about two weeks ago when out local talk radio station 770 AM WVNN announced a big change was planed. This of course was announced during the Darla Jaye show. Well, now know what the announcement was. Darla is moving to KMBZ in Kansas.

This F****er makes Kos look like, like.... Well, I don't really know what it makes him look like.
I guess this is one of those double meaning things. What ever he says take it for the exact opposite.

'The Michelin teams deeply regret the position that they have been put in today and would like to apologise to all the spectators, TV viewers, Formula One fans and sponsors for not being able to take part in today?s USA Grand Prix. "
This, I think, proves that the STUPID one set of tires per- race weekend is the single STUPIDEST rule in Formula One history.
I am sorry to see that Indy will no longer be on the Formula One Schedule.

1.) Total number of books I own:loaded question. Do you mean reading material other than books, such as magazines?
Book wise, about 500. If I include ten years of Car Craft, Hot Rod, Road & Track, Automobile, MotorTrend, and other assorted mags. A good 5000, easy.
2.) Last Book I Bought: Vienna Days by Kim Du Toit. Helps shorten the work day. :)
3.)Last Book I Read: American Soldier by General Tom Franks and Unfit For Command by John E.
O'Neill, Jerome R. Corsi.
4.)Five Books That Mean A Lot To Me:
- The Bible.
- Anything Tom Clancy.
- Frank Heberts DUNE.
- Band Of Brothers by Stephen Ambrose.
- Deliver Us From Evil by Sean Hannity.
And my list is as follows:
4. Dr. Phat Tony
Vilmar has so newer stuff on "The Dick".
Michelle Malkin has her usual boat load of links.
And the Best of the Web.
And remember you can contact the "senator" @
Phone: (202) 224-2152 or (312) 353-4952
Look at this;
"Following those remarks, the Illinois senator clarified that he was not comparing U.S. soldiers to Pol Pot, Nazis or Soviet guards, but was "attributing this form of interrogation to repressive regimes such as those that I note"
WTF? Does that not mean that he is.
Here is a PDF. file of his Comments.
Here is a good reminder for the senator.
A second (Graphic) reminer for the senator from the Jawa report.
Al Jazeera Loves the senator.

Firefly lands on the Sci Fi Channel!
Firefly, a science fiction series that was canceled midway through its first season on Fox, has found a new home on the Sci Fi Channel.
I Love the Sci-fi Channel.
Now if they would bring back; Frascape, Tremors, Invisible Man, Touching Evil, Fast Lane, John Doe, The Lone Gunmen, Lucky, Titus, Dark Angel, and Special Unit 2.
Well, "The Dick" likened American Service Men and Women to Nazi's and Commie Scum.
Why you ask?
Because they turned their AIR CONDITIONER OFF AND PLAYED RAP MUSIC!
I was going to do a whole rant on this today, but I am at work. So, it will be done by lunch.
In the mean time read Vilmar's, Frank J's, John's, and....
There should be more as the day goes on.

For example, this gem is in the Gas mileage forum;
I was wondering as I was going down a hill in 2nd gear if I was using up more gas in a lower gear than if I was to put it in drive or neutral and use the brakes.
Okay, you are going down hill. There is no input upon the accelerator, so there is no more fuel used than what would be used idling.
Now that the hot summer weather is fast approaching, I found it fitting that on The Discovery channel the other night, the show MythBusters was on and they did a segment on AC vs windows down, which uses more gas.
They took 2 identical 2005 Ford Explorers to a 1/2 mile test track, and drained the gas. They then put exactly 5 gallons of gas in each. Then they both started the engines at the same time and Explorer #1 had all the windows up and the AC on high, and Explorer #2 had the AC off and all 4 windows wide open. They both then drove around the track with the cruse control set at 45 mph. Explorer #1 ran out of gas first, and Explorer #2 was able to go around the track 30 (15 Miles) more times after Explorer #1 stopped.
Point being that although you don't get the best gas mileage with the windows open, you do get better gas mileage than running the AC.
I canÂt fault this one. Marvin has done his/her homework.
Treble; Does anyone remember the 55 mph speed limit? Is it just a foggy memory lost somewhere is the smoke from your exhaust? Does anybody remember why we had a 55 mph speed limit? Well, it was so that we could conserve fuel and so we would not be so dependent on OPEC. That idea was forgotten long ago. The fact is that the faster you drive over 60 mph, the lower you gas mileage will be. It is, besides the weight of the car, the primary factor in gas mileage. It is also the most important factor under the control of the driver. Bring back the 55 mph speed limit!
Other then the fact he/she is a moron I will go into the, somewhat, more scientific arena. One, cars of that era were not designed to run above, say, 70mph all day. They simply were not geared for it. Two, cars today are extremely aerodynamic compared to the cars of yester year. (Notice I said cars.) Three, If you feel you need to save the environment by doing 55 mph on the interstate, then by all means go ahead. I don't want to hear it when that 18 wheeler hits you at 85 mph.
One, Two, Three, FOUR!!
They're cheap to buy and cheap to drive! Reverse-status symbol, the VW Beetle of the new millenniumum!
Do I have to even say anything?

Here locally gas averages about $2.00
But I paid $2.09 this morning. (highest being $2.39)
There is one thing that chaps my nickers about all this is...
How can an oil company sell oil on Monday @ a given price and Wednesday get their inventories listings (which usually run a surplus) and go up without a new batch of refined oil comming in?
And another thing: all this crap about there not being enough oil, this wednesday check out when the oil companys publish their inventories for the week and see how much is still left in reserves.
And one other thing; if there is a flux in the market and oil spikes in price how can the oil company (for the quarter) get record profits, but still have slumping sales?
I think it all boils down to the fact that they're are greedy MF'ers and we are getting shafted.

An Elvis man, you like you women dangerous and your steaks bloody. You often get wrapped up in landscapes and fail to realize the danger you put yourself into. Don't get cocky, and don't get caught. It might be good to lay off the drugs every once in a while. Just a suggestion.
Take the What Pulp Fiction Character Are You? quiz.

3) I suddenly remembered this, when I came across this.

I had nothing to do.
I have never shaken so many hands. My hand hurts.
I don't know how people get up from day to day.
I hope I get better at operating with fewer than 10 hours of sleep everyday.
I fixed my computer, again.
I don't check my e-mail as often. I don't know why?
I received Kim du Toit's book Vienna Days in the mail today.

Your Birthdate: August 17
Your birth on the 17th day of the month suggests that you are very lucky financially, because this date indicates a solid business sense.
Although you are probably very honest and ethical, this birthday enables you to be shrewd and successful in the world of business and commercial enterprise.
You have excellent organizational, managerial, and administrative capabilities enabling you to handle large projects and significant amounts of money with relative ease.
You are ambitious and highly goal-oriented, although you may be better at starting projects than you are at finishing them.
A sensitivity in your nature, often repressed below the surface of awareness, makes it hard to give or receive affection.

You are self-confident, self-reliant, and courageous in your convictions.
While you sometimes fear loneliness, you prefer to be left alone.
A bit self centered, you may be hard to life with at times.
You also have a strong dominant streak - which can push others away at times.

In the last 12 hours I have been hit with two trojans and a possible virus.
It has really shit up my computer.
Any firewalls, virus scans, or other software that aids in the prevention of this should be updated now.
Now to fix this damn dell again.
On a side note: I can't wait to B. (org) Gates takes a long dirt nap so I can piss on his grave!!!
UPDATE: I now have to use a different computer to do anything online. The virus is disguised as an administrator or information account from your mail provider. (firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com, etc) There is no need to mess with the attachment on this one; it is set to open when the E-mail is opened. I had a total of 9 in all my mail accounts. Needless to say, I had to only click one.
In the last 7 hours the computer hasn't been touched, it has been in sleep mode. There are 13 new programs, 28 Internet Explorer windows open (6 were playing videos), and NO ADMINISTRATOR ACCESS GRANTED to me in any of the control consoles.
The son of a bitch disables your firewall first then your anti-virus software. I can’t save anything that was on it. But I am lucky; I just installed a new hard drive Saturday so there wasn’t much on it.
Just all my saves game files from: The Sims 2, FarCry, Doom, HL2, C&C Generals, Sim City 4, and Starcraft.
I am not really pissed.
I am really, really pissed.
It is going to be a long night.
48 programs to reinstall, 2 operating systems, and a shit load of other crap.
I feel happy, oh so happy.
